How to Verify Yourself

Download the file from this page (Installer or Portable).

Check the SHA-256 hash to confirm the file is authentic. Open a terminal and run:

certutil -hashfile PulsarTerminal-Setup.exe SHA256

Compare the output with the SHA-256 hash shown above. If they match, the file has not been tampered with.

Optionally, scan it yourself — upload the downloaded file to virustotal.com. The SHA-256 will match our reports above, proving it's the exact same file we scanned.

About SmartScreen & antivirus warnings: Pulsar Terminal is built with Electron (same technology as VS Code, Discord, and Slack). New Electron apps without a code-signing certificate may trigger a Windows SmartScreen warning on first launch — this is standard behavior, not a security risk. Simply click "More info" → "Run anyway" to proceed.

Code signing — coming soon: We are in the process of obtaining an EV (Extended Validation) Code Signing Certificate. Once applied, the SmartScreen warning will no longer appear and the publisher will be verified as "Astralys LLC". In the meantime, you can verify the integrity of every download using the SHA-256 checksums and VirusTotal reports above.
